Just want to know, I was in north London in a restaurant with my friends. It was around 11:45am. The restaurant had some alcoholic drinks displayed on the top and back on the counter. I called up a waiter and asked if I can have some of those beer and he/she replayed to me ‘Yes'. I was thinking there was some thing like you can’t serve any alcoholic drinks after 12 mid day. Am I right?
You wrote that it was around 11:45.
So may be they were taking advantage of the 15 mins. And allowed you to drink.

Yeah they must have given you due to the fact that there was 15 minutes left. You should be happy :D, but anyhow i think they should have given it another 15 minutes instead of breaking a law.

They aren't going to tell you "Sorry sir, it's almost 12, you can't have a drink". They need money, they're going to let you have an alcoholic drink before time runs out.
why i never heard this kinda law before  I was working in a chinese restaurant as parttime and i always got an order of alcohol drinks after mid day and i always serve them. nobody told me anything. :D
