Restricted Parking

I went to park my car in a small parking area in Harrow wealdstone worst happened to me cause when i came back my car wasn't there. I usually park my car there all day whenever i go to the university and I never had a problem. I parked my car there for few hours only as i only need to pick up some books in the library but when i went back my car wasn't there. I got realy scared i thought my car was stolen. Then a guy came to me and asked me if my car is a Honda i said yes and he told me that it's been towed because i parked in a private parking. I told the guy that I always park my car there and never had a problem. Beside there was no sign of anything saying you can't park there. The guy asked me for a towing fee of £430 and i dont have a choice because they got my car. So i paid them £430 to get my car back. I didnt get a chance to enquire because i was so scared. I'm sharing this experience to serve as a reminder to all of you regarding parking your cars and to be careful with bogus parking attendant.Make sure that you look for signs before parking your cars.

Unfortunately Lea the onus is always on the user to check for themselves for warning signs and restrictions.This is one of those cases where a small disposable camera would be handy so yuo could supply proof of the lack of signs. It's always a good idea to have one f these cameras in the car anyway in case of accidents and the like

I did checked it and as I have said I always park my car there and there was no problem. Well i just hope ther members will be able to read my post to give them a reminder....

i would be nervous too if I came out and my car was gone. Here they don't usually tow right away but can lock your wheels if you have too many parking violations.

That would be a pretty scary situation but my car has never been towed although my father parked in a private car park on Thursday...but I was still in the car...

Your car could be parked in your garage and still be stolen. IT isn't really where you park your car it's whos around. Some thing are inevitable.

It is scary experience and I feel cheated because there was no proper signs anywhere in the area. I though it was done in purpose. I usually park my car there and nothing like this happen before and of course I do check the place before i park my car, who would like to be charge that much amount of money? course nobody. So when you feel that you parked your car there safely then that is the time they will charge you so its like a scam you know.
