I have heard stories of when people have their laptops stolen. So I am wondering how you can protect your information in case this happens.

This girl at school with me had her's stolen about 5 weeks ago...that must have sucked...I don't think that there is any fool proof way to do so though...

The only real solution is not to keep very important information on your laptop and to put a password on it. Otherwise, Just make sure you keep it with you and don't let it get stolen.

Yeah, he's right. Even if you password protect your logins, they can use a password cracker. I forgot what its called, but microsoft made one.
EDIT: Locksmith

it's hard for the businesspeople. they need to put all info in their laptop all the time. another thing we can do is DO back up your data so you will not loose them all.

Well its true eventhough you put a password then can still cracked it. So just dont be dumb to put all you personal information in your laptop and just be extra careful and presence of mind and lots of common sense.
