What is the link between drugs and crime?
Research has shown that alcohol is a contributory factor in many instances of crime and disorder. According to the latest British Crime Survey, victims judged that offenders were under the influence of alcohol in 40% of incidents. Drunkenness is associated with a majority of murders, manslaughters and stabbings and half of domestic assaults.

The ‘official guess’ of the cost of drug addiction is somewhere between £10 billion and £18 billion a year – mostly in crime and its consequences. Drug users may steal £13,000 a year just to survive.

Of course there is a connection! How else do you expect hopeless addicts to finance their addictions?

yes of course it related. Buy Drugs need money. how can they afford expensive drugs for everyday use? normally it will end up with street robbery. House burgler. and stealing. that's fast money and they can use those cash to buy drugs.
Also using drug got a side effect. people will not feel guilty or care anything afer took the drug so they will be more easy to commit other crime like abusing or murder.

There is a massive link between drugs and crime. Lets imagine your average Heroin addict is on a £30 a day habit(not unrealistic.) If your on that much your not holding down a job as you are trying to get the money for and sticking yourself three times a day. Thats £210 per week or £840 a month. With jobseekers allowance a pitiful £80 or so quid a week that leaves a massive shortfal. Ill stop doing maths now! The rest of your money is coming from Theft based means such as Burglary and shoplifting. That nice new 50 inch plasma you have just treated yourself to at a grand a piece will probably get your average addict about £100 quids worth from the local dealer. The only saving grace is that they are to weak and out of it to commit robbery, though its not unheard of. Women addicts will usually just give out a sexual favour for a £10 bag if they are skint. But dont worry to much because you and i are paying for their accomodation via taxes so they dont have to find money for that. Methadone is now given out in weekly doses, which they can sell, as opposed to making them take it in front of the pharmacist on a daily basis like they used to. You and i are paying for that to. I personally dont give a monkeys what these people stick in their veins, i just resent paying for it in my policing bill, NHS Bill, higher prices in shops and losing the items i have worked hard all my life for so some pathetic (oooh im a victim of circumstance, my mother never loved me etc) smackhead to burgle my home. Twice the bastards!!!
